Inaugural Event Brings 450+ Representatives From Global Drone Ecosystem To Discuss The Future Of The Region’s Commercial Drone Industry

DJI, the world’s leader in civilian drones and aerial imaging technology, today opened the doors to its first AirWorks Conference in China. Held in the Jinshan District of Shanghai, AirWorks China marks the first expansion of DJI’s annual commercial drone conference to the region, bringing thought leaders of the rapidly-growing ecosystem of hardware, software and service companies together to promote cooperation and discussions around the future of drone technology in the context of the emerging industry within China and the broader Asia-Pacific region.

“China is one of the leading adopters of drone technology in the world today which is why we are thrilled to bring DJI’s AirWorks conference to this thriving ecosystem,” said Sunny Liao, Director of Enterprise at DJI. “The value of AirWorks is its ability to connect organizations with the right kind of expertise and tools that suit their respective industries. We believe the conversations over the next two days will ignite the potential of this fast-emerging regional ecosystem.”

Leading innovators in the industry including Microsoft, FLIR Systems and Skycatch, demonstrated solutions and showcased proof-of-concept projects that have been achieved with the use of DJI technology. Leading domestic companies, such as 小红点 (Redovation) and 中国南方电网 (China Southern Power Grid), shared best practices and highlighted the value and benefits of adopting drone technology as part of their day to day operations.

By strengthening strategic partnerships and deepening integration with the drone ecosystem, DJI – through its Software Development Kits – seeks to enable the introduction of a myriad of new specialized solutions tailored to industrial applications, providing even more utility for enterprises using its powerful series of drone platforms.

“DJI drones are trusted by businesses around the world because they have become powerful tools people can rely on for their work,” said Liao. “As the industry’s platform-of-choice, our drones are open for further innovation – at AirWorks, a proof of concept showcased here today will be a specialized tool being used by industry tomorrow. This is definitely a region to watch.”

AirWorks China will be held from August 30 – 31 at the Holiday Inn Shanghai Jinshan.

AirWorks is an annual event that brings DJI users together to inspire, connect and energize attendees about the beneficial drone applications available to enterprises today as well as the future of the global commercial drone industry. This year’s AirWorks Conference will take place from October 30 – November 1 in Dallas, Texas
